2022:
Unity CYOA Template:
This is a simple Unity template. One that I designed to make turning classic CYOA stories into a mobile app without to much trouble.
Shoutout to Klaudia Bronowicka for the help. This blog post about visual novels really helped me figure this out, so I appreciate it!
Right now the layout is kind of sparse, but it is fairly simple to replace the included story with one of your own (created in the Ink software.)
From there you can simply build the app and run it on an android phone, or mess around with the layouts some more to suit your needs.
Also, I initially planned on updating this one quite a bit, but now that I’ve abandoned the Unity game engine, I don’t see that happening anymore.
Instead, I may end up making a version in another game engine later on, but I’m not sure right now. Feel free to let me know if that is something you’d like to see!
